The ultimate access into what it takes to become a global makeup artist working backstage. Each day has been created to give you the true insight into what is required to be part of the fashion elite. Open to all levels of experience.
Day one - Skin is my thing - An introduction to the course itself and learning what it takes to be a professional makeup artist. Learning about all things skin from products to how to prep skin for a perfect base. Learning facial massage and how to create "real" skin
Day two - Covering all the bases - a concise look into how to create the perfect base for different needs. Covering Raw skin, Show skin, Flawless studio skin and bodies.
Day three - Working with textures on the eye - Exploring different textures to create a variety of eye looks, re-working the classic smoky eye, perfecting graphic eyeliners with precious and pushing the boundaries to create fashion-forward eyes.
Day four - Prescriptive makeup for eyes - Looking at how makeup can change the shape of the eye, creative play with colour and how to create makeup for a client with specific needs. Working with false lashes and how they can be used to change the shape of the eye, different styles and creating different eyeshapes with them. Creative lashes and how to design a look around them that would grace a modern beauty story.
Day five - Lip Service - Exploring different lip techniques from editorial looks to glamour. Allowing creativity to flow when creating various lip looks, influenced by eras and styles. Experimenting with different textures to create the perfect pout
Day six - Cheeks & Brows - Looking at natural contouring, various ways of using blush, tanning & creating freckles. Learning how to create the perfect show brow, exploring androgenous brows, learning how to block out brows and getting creative with eyebrows.
Day seven - The Line Up - Learning what it really takes to work backstage at a fashion show, covering all areas of makeup and beyond. Practicing speed and re-creatig Maria's original show looks.
Day eight - Taking the Lead - Exploring what is involved in heading your own fashion show team, from communicating with designers & working alongside stylists & hairstylists, to what is involved with a show fitting and designing looks.
Day nine - Male Grooming - A full and concise day of everything to do with male grooming. Learning the difference in men's skin compared to womens, how to create perfect male skin from shows to the Red Carpet to the Boardroom.
Day ten - Portfolio day - Looking at the importance of a makeup artist's portfolio and what is required. Creating two makeup looks that will benefit the portfolio and have them photographed by a professional photographer.
